25th Birthday of the Internet
Two Dot Ventures â€
@TwoDotVentures Mar 10 – 12, 2014
It’s been 25 years now for the WWW – World Wide Web. WOW! It seems like yesterday when we tried to get that old C64 (Commodore 64) in 1982 to speed up.
The WWW was still along way off. But we set up an intranet with 5 computers in a network that really worked. Slow but effective. That C64 really was a game changer. We were able to see the future with confidence. Now 32 years later and a lot of hardware, we are about to celebrate 25 years of being online with a lot better browser than (IBM PCs and MS-DOS) Netscape then Windows then Firefox and now Google.
For all of you who enjoy what has come from one domain name Symbolics.com back then to millions of domains and domain companies like HotChocolate.net and AlphabetDomains.com and AlpLocal.com.
Domains like AlphabetLocal.com, LadyNotary.com and many others like MsQRCode.com, MsEllen.com, MsEllenParty.com, PasAds.com, PasShops.com, HotChocolate.net, Alpd.us
Domains: OnlineMediaSecurity.com, LuxuryCar.info, TwoCamps, inMetroLa.com, AlphabetDomains.com, TwoDotVentures.com, Alpus.us, PasDomains.com, NotaryApps.com, GuruDomainSales.com, Lepi.co.uk, TheNameMan.com
Domains: QueenieMae.com, AlphabetClasses.com, CreationDomains.com, TwoDotDomains.com and PasMobile.com Apps have been invaluable in promoting the internet.
Now take a moment on Wednesday and pause then thank the men and women who carried the torch (did the heavy lifting) and carried the burdens needed to make being online (what it is today).
Thank those whose leadership (coupled with) the vision to press on to make the internet what it is today. Now we are entering the era of “Internet of Things”. This iOT will propel us into waters, the height of which the world has never known. Thanks Cisco for your leadership. This Future Internet of Mobile of Things, The Future Mobile of Things and the Mobile of Things, will catapult us into the stratosphere – the likes of which this 25 year old called the “Internet” could have never known or saw coming.
So as we look to the future with confidence, let us pause and say thanks to everyone who worked hard to build this internet. Men like @DomainKing Rick Schwartz, Frank Schilling @Frank_Schilling , Michael Berkens, (with special mention of Attorney Ari Goldberger who owns the .com and we have the .net we registered 15 year ago) and thousands more from domainers to Developers, Planners, IT and ITT Tech who have sacrificed time and “skin” in this game of growth and development of the internet.
Cut the Cake and Pop the cork … the internet turns 25 on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Take time today to celebrate this event …. pic.twitter.com/wPhcJHhFG6 – The Internet makes us a living…and millions more…More on Wednesday!
Wednesday, March 12, 2014 – 25th Birthday of the Internet
Well, here we are in Dallas (some of our team) celebrating the 25th Birthday of the Internet! We cut the cake early and will pop the cork at 2 pm. Why at 2 pm? Well, at 2:00 pm on March 12, 1989 we went online as an infant site. Now 25 years later and many sites later, we are extremely grateful for both those who started with us and have since passed on and those we have come to value us in this journey.
For all of our followers and friends in Dallas we salute you from Hollywood. Our team is here in Hollywood for a special event. We send our eternal love (and support for you and your role in Two Dot Ventures). The internet has made it possible to be on location any where in the world. So we SALUTE the many men and women around the world who have worked tirelessly to make the internet what we so value today. (via Skype)
Now we are entering a new era: The Mobile of Things! We want to encourage (you) to see the need to GO Mobile! Now the internet is on our phones…if you are creating web projects, go mobile … it’s the future.
Back in 1990 we discussed how valuable it would be if we could have a device in our hands to access the internet. WOW! Some of those in the room have passed on. However, the reality of the speed and performance has made it possible to make millions (of dollars) via the internet, even being able to post data in an ongoing stream like Twitter has all been made possible because of the internet.
So we honor those men and women who still work to make it better in this mobile world. Now, a cause for celebration: Google announced they are ending banner ads in search results. Agreed Escrow has joined with GoCoin to accept Bitcoin and Litecoin to allow clients to pay for services. Now we have digital currency thanks to the internet. Good News for clients.
Now, we are looking to do something to commemorate this day. Any suggestions? Nicole is online to sort it out. Send us an idea and if accepted, we will do this in celebration of the 25th birthday of the internet.. Hurry send us your ideas. We will close it out in 5 hours. (6pm Pacific)
Special Note: There are some excellent Premium .com and Premium .xyz domains at #alphabetdomains (AlphabetDomains.com) – you can make an offer for any one of these premium domains.
Well, we received one great idea. This is it: Register a domain name to remember this day. The domain will be forever associated with the internet: (We did and) it is WelcomeTheInternet.com! Thanks for the suggestion and we are going to give a FREE domain to the person who sent us this suggestion. Now throughout infinity this date-stamped domain will be associated with the 25th birthday of the internet March 12, 2014). Plus a bonus (for the idea: FREE Mobile App).
The virtual birth of the iOT (Internet of Things) that Cisco is working to develop which will integrate everyday things into a working network to improve the lives of people. Apple is coming out with Car Play for the iPhone integration in automobile and other vehicles for entertainment.
Then, there is the Mobile of Things ( MobileofThings.com ) that will improve our mobile world. So as we close out this 25th birthday of the internet, let’s look ahead to the next birthday (March 12, 2015) and weigh in on the progress of companies and individuals who are working to make the internet safer and reliable for future generations. Keep an eye on welcometheinternet.com for a fully integrated web project detailing the past and future of the internet. Any ideas? Just private message our team. we are here to listen and support.
